SINA Danny at Mikey Garcia ay dalawa lamang sa mga boksingerong nangangarap makaharap si eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao ngayong 2020.

At may dalawang dahilan iyon: Kumita ng milyon at tawagin ding alamat sakaling sila ay manalo.
Si (Danny) Garcia ay umaasang pipiliin siya ng 41-anyos na WBA welterweight super champion bilang susunod nitong kalaban.

“In order to become a legend, you’ve gotta beat the legend,” lahad ni Garcia (35-2, 21 KOs) sa panayam ng boxingscene.

“You know, Manny Pacquiao’s had an incredible career. Being 40 years old and beating a prime Thurman, he’s had an incredible career. He’s somebody definitely all the boxers should look up to. And for me to get the opportunity to fight him, you know, you’ve gotta beat the legend to be the legend. And that’s how I look at it.”

Wala pang napipisil na kontender si Pacquiao para sa kanyang susunod na laban at hindi pa rin batid kung sa spring o summer.

Pero, may nagsasabing posibleng piliin ng Pambansang Kamao si Errol Spence Jr. dahil mas malaki ang kanyang kikitain.

Nagpahayag si Spence na muli siyang lalaban sa parehong panahon ng pagbabalik din ni Pacquiao.

Ayaw din ng unbeaten IBF/WBC welterweight champion ng tune-up fight sa kanyang comeback matapos magpagaling buhat sa tinamong sugat sa mukha at ngipin dahil sa car accident noong Oktubre 10 sa Dallas.

Para naman kay (Mikey) Garcia, kung tatalunin niya si Jessie Vargas sa Pebrero 29, siya na ang susunod na makakalaban ni Pacquiao.

“There’s a lot of buzz going around on a potential Manny Pacquiao fight. It’s a fight that’s been brought up for years. Now it’s starting to pick up a lot of steam,” wika ni Garcia.

“He has obligations in the Philippines government, and I wanted to get a return fight [after losing to Errol Spence Jr]. I don’t know if he will be available or not, but I think the second half of 2020 might be ready for both of us to get in the ring.

“Maybe he gets something before that. By then, I’ll be ready to get back in the ring. I didn’t want to just wait. If I look forward to bigger fights, than the biggest fight for me is Manny Pacquiao, ” sabi pa ni Garcia.
